The reality is that it takes 40/45 on road hours to be at the level to pass the driving test.

12 EDT Driving Lessons Limerick
New Learner permit holders since 4th April 2011 must now sit a course of Essential Driver Training {EDT}. These lessons are carried out by us and it is advised to use a sponsor where possible.
Lessons alone in an instructor’s car is not ideal as your progress and development will be very slow.
It’s also advised by the RSA that ⅔ hours practice should be achieved before the next EDT lesson commences.

6 Reduced EDT driving lessons Limerick
The RSA introduced a reduced EDT plan whereby if there is no licence exchange agreement in place between Ireland and whatever country you are from.
To qualify for reduced EDT you will need to:
- Hold a foreign licence
- Have held the licence for at least 2 years prior to receiving you Irish learner permit

- You must be resident in Ireland
